We are not psychologists or therapists but these are observations we have made. There are a lot of things that affect our health through our mind. Some of these are: finance, relational, and our view of nutrition (some call it diet). Stress is funny. Some of it causes people to react the same way, i.e. it causes people (especially those over 30) to gain weight. It also affects some people in very different ways, for example, it leads some to alcoholism and to over eat. We can never eliminate stress but we can reduce it. Here are some tools we offer:
Financial
We read or hear in the news that we are in high debt. Living paycheck to paycheck, this causes a lot of stress. This is one of the leading causes of divorce today. One way of controlling your finances rather than it control you is by having a budget. Yes, I said a budget. This puts you in control of your circumstances not your circumstance in control of you. We can show you how to put one together, how to work on your debts to become debt free (yes, that is an option to life), and how to keep from going back into debt.
Relational
With finance the leading cause of divorce, this would lead to relational issues. To maintain good relationships, you need to be an active participant. You need to give as well as receive. Open lines of communication go a long way in releasing stress from most situations. This means talking and spending time with your spouse, be involved with you children and spend time with them.
How does physical fitness affect relationships?
1. It keeps you feeling and looking young.
2. It helps with energy levels to keep up with younger children.
3. It helps with energy levels for that “time alone” with your spouse.
4. It helps to reduce stress
5. It reduces chance of injury when playing sports.
